How long does the boat trip from Kavieng take?

The boat ride usually takes around two hours with a short island stop with a refreshment.

Important for the boat rides: sun protection for head (wind resistant ), arms and knees

What accommodation options are available?

Beside our two romantic double bed cottages, there is the option of bringing a tent or staying overnight in a nearby guesthouse.

What about mosquitoes?

There are mosquitoes, althoug not many. There are the most in December and January.

Please bring your own cream or spray for your skin protection with you. DEET standard products gives you the best protection.

Mosquito nets are installed in the cottages.

Who needs a Visa for PNG?

Actually everybody needs a visa for PNG.

On the govermental website you can find the online tool to ask for the visa.

Do you offer snorkeling gear?

No. Please bring your own snorkeling equipment.

We also recommend shoes for going into the water.

Some advice for the stay on the island?

  • a headlight is helpful, after seven o'clock it is dark for about ten hours

Do you have electricity?

We have only solar energy for lights and to charge mobilephones.

Do you have a fridge?

When we travel to Kavieng we can buy ice blocks. The ice in the cool box lasts for about three days, depending on how the cool box is used.
